Vlog: Intro for Monkey

As I’ve mentioned before, I plan on shooting some video while I travel for my Niece whose 2yrs old. I know, she’s young. However she pretty smart and talking to her through video means she will know what I look like!! However, with this being my second video, I am still trying to master the art of filming myself and therefore I’m still cutting part of my head off!! I think I’ll have to invest in a tripod pretty soon. :)

This video will appear on her very own page on my new site design once it’s been coded etc. However, I’m not sure when the site will re-launch, so I’m giving you a sneak peak. I’ll warn you now, it’s pretty basic.

Banff and My 1st Video- YIKES!

Banff and My 1st Video- YIKES!

Oh, what was I thinking!! I am so unbelievably camera shy, and here I am shooting my first video. The idea was to do videos for my 2yr old niece while I travel, so I’m hoping this whole process will become less embarrassing as time goes by. Oh, please let this get less embarrassing! Check it out for yourself and try not to laugh too hard! haha

Okay, so now that the embarrassing part is over, it’s over right?! Let me tell you a little bit about Banff.  As I mention in the video, Banff is very touristy and therefore very expensive in some respects.  However there are some amazing vistas.  Whenever I feel the need to grab my camera and get away, I usually end up in Banff.  Below are some of the photos I took while in Banff today.

Sri Lanka | Video

I love this video of Sri Lanka, the music seems a little too Scottish, but the imagery is beautiful.

Bhutan| Video

I was surfing You Tube this morning and came across this video of Bhutan from 2 locals.  I love watching videos and flipping through photographs of a country I’m thinking of visiting.  It creates a more intense desire.

Bhutan is not an easy country to visit, the exit/entry requirements are a tad expensive, but in my opinion it’s worth the cost.

These videos doesn’t go into a lot of detail, but it’s enough to intrigue my interest even more.  Bhutan is such an untouched country.  Which gives it huge travel appeal for me!

The diversity of the country is interesting.  The trick however will be finding an agency that allows a diverse tour. Like Tibet, Canadians need to join a tour to enter Bhutan, but the difference is that in Tibet once you cross the boarder, you can venture on your own.

The cost for a one week tour? $1,500 USD.  That’s the amount of money I’ll spend in 2 months in China!  Would you spend the money, if you knew you’d be experiencing something unique? I would.

Travel Writing… my dream job

Being a travel writer is one of my dream jobs.  Although you’re constantly moving around and spend obscene amounts of time at the airport, I would still be in heaven!
