There are more and more women blogging. They blog about everything from finance, to cooking and being a Mom. But that’s not all, there are several women blogging about travel. As most of us know, blogging takes commitment, consistency, personality and heart. The following women have been blogging about life and travel for several years and they are a great source of not only information, but inspiration.

Journeywoman – Evelyn has been blogging since the ’90′s and she has a readership of over 70,000. Evelyn is a spunky woman, a Mother and Grandmother who is taking the world by storm. She is also a fellow Canadian -yes, I love my fellow Canadians!

Solo Traveler- Janice is a traveler at heart. She traveled solo in her twenties, traveled with her husband ad children in her 30′s & 40′s and now she’s hitting the road solo, once again. If you don’t follow her blog, you really should. She is a great source of inspiration.

Italylogue- It’s safe to say that I have a small girl crush on Jessica. I’ve known Jessica for several years now, and she has always been a source of inspiration for me. Heck, she’s the one who introduced me to Twitter! Jessica is an authority on all things Italy. If you’re planning a trip to Italy, you need to check out her site.

Almost Fearless- Christine has been around the blogging community for some time now and it’s safe to say that she is one of the most popular bloggers out there. I’ve had the pleasure of meeting Christine, her husband Drew and their son Cole. I love them all. Be sure to check out her blog and read about their travels, as well as how their documentary is unfolding!

Lola Goes North- Lola Akinmade is a girl with a dream. Since she was a little girl, she has wanted to travel to the North Pole. Now, she may have her chance! Lola is a fabulous traveler, woman and blogger. She works with Matador, runs her own blog and now she’s competing for a trip to the North Pole. If you have a chance, go vote for her!

 

 

Bootsnall- A one-stop indie travel guide, Bootsnall offers a wide range of services. Be sure to check out their travel forums, as well as their guides. Bootsnall also publishes fabulous travel articles from a wide variety of authors.

Vagabond Family- built for parents or soon to be parents who want something different for themselves and their children. Living a travel (or nomadic) lifestyle throws a lot of challenges your way and we are here (as a group) to help you perpare, plan and live a less common lifestyle with your children.

Matador Network- Matador’s online magazine is a culmination every aspect of life from Nightlife, to Travel, and more.

 

 

Bangkok Podcast- If you’re planning a trip to Bangkok, or thinking of becoming an expat in Bangkok, subscribe to these guys. They’re funny and full of great information. Plus, they know how to throw a pretty mean party ;)

The Indie Travel Podcast- Craig and Linda Martin have been traveling the world since February 2006 and they have a wealth of information to share!

This Week In Travel- The brainchild of Gary Ardnt (Everything Everywhere), This Week in Travel also features Chris Christensen & Jen Leo. Topics are generally informative and fun and relavent to what is currently happening in the travel community.

A Little A Drift- Shannon is always smiling. Always! She’s a fabulous person inside and out and her writing reflects that.

Andi Perullo- - Andi’s personal blog, My Beautiful Adventures is full of life. Her photos are beautiful and her writing is full of emotion. Andi has traveled to several countries that I am dying to visit -India and Argentina.

Go, See, Write- Michael is a lawyer who left his job to travel around-the-world by land -that means no planes people. Check out his blog to see how he did it!

Johnny Vagabond- Wes is currently in Asia, traveling low and slow. Be sure to stop by his blog to read funny stories, and drool over fabulous photos.

Legal Nomads – Fabulous things come in tiny packages. Well, maybe not all the time, but in this case they do! Jodi may be a tiny little thing, but don’t let her size fool ya! She’s a spitfire kind of girl, and we love her!

Nomadic Samuel -Travel Blog that is miles away from ordinary…dripping with sarcasm.

Our Own Path- Kyle & Bessie have been traveling the world for over 1,000 days. That’s a lot! In 2011, they’ll be living in Burma and traveling through South East Asia some more. Be sure to check out their site!

The Mad Traveler- I met Kevin in Bangkok in 2010, and he’s just as funny in person as he is online. When I asked him if he wanted his blog to appear under RTW or Asia, this is what he said: “I only go HALFWAY RTW and double back. this is a conundrum. and an enigma. wrapped in a bagel. TERRORISM!”

The Planet D- Deb & Dave are fellow Canadians and all around amazing people. They have a thirst for adventure which makes this blogger a little jealous. Be sure to check out their blog and read about their Muay Thai lessons!

A Totally Impractical Guide To Living In Shanghai- Mary is, well… hilarious. Her blog is sassy, fun and a must read for anyone who is considering travel to China.

Bangkok Reality Smackdown- I love everything about the title of this blog. Plus, Megan is a seriously funny girl.

Unbravegirl- Sally has been traveling in Asia on and off for a few years now. She is full of zip and her posts are usually full of anecdotes, sarcasm and spunk. Oh, and they’re usually really long. We love Sally.

Christine Medina- Christine is a Seattle girl, who has been living in Spain since 2009. Her blog, Christine|In|Spain is funny, insightful and full of heart.

My Melange- Robin writes about all things France and Italy. Her posts are decedent and delicious.

Suzy Guese- Suzy is an Italyophile. The girl lives and breathes, Italy. Suzy also writes about trips through other countries in Europe, as well as North America.

The Aussie Nomad- In 2010 Chris left his home in Australia and traveled through Europe before stopping in London to live and work.

Joey Goes Global- Joey has traveled through Africa, Asia and beyond. In fact, he could be place up with the RTW Blogs. However, he has a lot of valuable information on Africa.

The Vagabond Adventures- Lucie, Lachlan & Bow Wow are traveling the world, helping communities through trade, not aid. They have traveled extensively through Africa and are a fabulous resource for anyone planning a trip.

North America Blogs

Abbie Mood -Abbie is a fun-loving girl who enjoys running as well as travel. By day, Abbie teaches special needs children, by night, she writes! Abbie has also written for Matador and Bootsnall.

Abby Tegnelia- Abby lived her dream. She quite her job and moved to Costa Rica for a year. Now, she’s living a new dream, in Las Vegas! Abby’s blog, The Jungle Princess, is full of crazy stories and fantastic photos. Her personality radiates in her writing and I know you’ll enjoy it as much as I do.

Candice Does The World- Candice is a sassy ginger from Newfoundland. She writes about travel, and life in Newfoundland. Her blog is hilarious.

Nancy Under the Star- Yea, a fellow Canadian! I just love Nancy’s blog. PLUS she lives near Vancouver (my soon to be new home).

Nerds Eye View- Pam is one of my favourite people. She’s quirky, fun and serves it straight-up. There is no bull shit here, folks. Pam blogs about live in Seattle, Hawaii and Penguins -along with other stuff.

Scene By Laurie- Laurie is a New Yorker, and a fellow foodie. She blogs about live in New York, as well as trips within the US and around the globe.

Solo Friendly – Gray is a woman on the move. She’s proof that you can have a full-time job and be a traveler and successful travel blogger.

The Brooklyn Nomad- I love Andrew’s blog. It’s another must read if you’re planning a trip to New York.

The Traveling Philosopher- Spencer is ever the gentleman. He has a great sense of humor and is an excellent drinking buddy. We adore Spencer.

Central & South America Blogs

Married With Luggage- Betsy & Warren are two of the funniest and most perky people I have met. Although they’re traveling round-the-world over the next 3 years,they’re currently traveling in Central & South America. Slow travel is the game.

Trans-Americas Journey- Eric & Karen are taking 5 years to travel through North, Central & South Americas.

 

 

Beers & Beans- Bethany is a very talented photographer and avid traveler. I wasn’t sure which section to place her blog!

Canvas of Light- Daniel is an amazing photographer. His photographs are pure eye candy.

Kirsten Alana- Kirsten is a talented photographer and travel lover. Plus, she is one cool chick. If you’re looking for someone to shoot your portrait in and fun and playful way, check her out!

Peter West Carey- Peter is one gigantic kid. He’s a lot of fun and weird -all at the same time. He’s also a very gifted photographer!
