I’ve been told (by a few people) that I do things I really shouldn’t do. In other words, I’m a girl who is not currently skinny (working on that part) and I’ve decided to not let that get to me. I’ve taken snowboarding lessons. I’ve slept on the top bunk of an old russian train in Mongolia (albeit nervously). I’ve walked until my back hurt and then walked some more. I’ve been starred at, pointed at and I’ve stilled managed to go outside almost everyday that I have been on the road. I also have a weakness for fun child-like slot machines when I’m traveling in the US, and a love of street meat whenever I’m in Toronto (not matter what time of year it is).
I’m independent, stubborn and determined. I always have been.
As a traveler, I love the ability I have to tap into my dreams and desires and make them come true. I love waking up in the morning and walking through a new city or town. I love meeting new people and trying new foods -even if said foods burned my insides!
Aside from being a travel lover, I am also an art and history lover. My camera is almost always in my bag and I love to snap photos when I’m on the road, and sharing them here.
Since 2010 I’ve traveled to Thailand, Malaysia, China, Mongolia, Kenya, Tanzania, Malawi, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Namibia and South Africa. I met some fabulous travel bloggers, travelers, locals and refugees. My experiences in Bangkok changed the way I viewed the city and the country of Thailand. It was due to those experiences that I created a project called Photolanthrophy and I’m currently working towards starting the project in Bangkok.
Over the last 2 years there have been a lot of changes on this blog. Many of those changes had to do with my feeling lost and confused by everything around me, however, I’ve decided to dial things back and make this blog about me and my spunky self. I hope that you enjoy reading my stories, advice and tips.
